Golden Triangle with Khajuraho & Varanasi Tour


Day 01 :  Delhi Arrival

Today Arrival at Delhi Airport you will be picked up and welcomed by our Tour representative and there after we will take you to your pre booked Hotel on arrival check in to your Hotel and relax Night at Delhi hotel.

Day 02 : Delhi Sightseeing
Today after breakfast at Hotel we will check out and go for sightseeing tour of Delhi visiting Humayun’s Tomb (1586), The Qutab Minar 72 meters high and one of the most perfect towers in the Persian world.  The Iron Pillar which has survived the vagaries of weather for over 1500 years.  Continue with a drive through Embassy area, the Government buildings (1921-1930) and Connaught Place, the heart and main shopping district of the capital.

Later, we cross the city and into the walled gates of the Old city with visits to the Jamma Mosque (1650) and drive through the fabled area of Chandni Chowk (aptly translates to Moonlight Square) where the throngs of shoppers and vendors meet in the oldest area of Delhi. Visit Raj Ghat and nearby ghats where the founder of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi and thereafter Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi were cremated.

The highlight of this tour would be a ride on cycle rickshaws. Now these are 3-wheel cycles with a sofa seat at the back. The Rickshawalla (Rickshaw driver) sits on a small cushion in the front and two passengers on the sofa seat behind. This is a remarkable way to explore and picture the hustle and bustle as well as the colour of the narrow winding streets bursting with people and pavement shops selling wares of all description - including a laughing set of dentures. The ride would be accompanied by peals of laughter both from the passengers as well as the onlookers.

Evening We will Transfer you to Delhi Railway Station for your Train to Varanasi ( Night in Train ) [SWATANTRTA S EX Train No 12562 Departs at 20:30 from Delhi and Reached next day Varanasi at 8:30 ]

Day 03: Varanasi  Arrival
Today Morning On arrival at Varanasi Station you will be picked up and transferred to Hotel, after some rest we will go for sightseeing tour visiting Bharat Mata Temple, the Durga Temple which is more commonly known as the Monkey Temple, Emperor Aurangzeb’s Mosque, the sacred bull, the Well of Knowledge, the Vishwanath Temple, and Benares Hindu University. The Vishwanath or ‘Golden Temple’ was built in 1776, and is the most sacred temple in Varanasi, being dedicated to Vishveswara – Shiva as Lord of the Universe. Not far from this temple is the Benares Hindu University – a centre for education in Indian art, music, culture, philosophy, and for the study of Sanskrit. Overnight stay at Hotel.  

Day 04: Varanasi Stay.
Today Early Morning Boat Ride in Ganga River, then back to Hotel for breakfast after that we will go for Excursion tour of Sarnath. Lord Buddha gave his first sermon at Sarnath. Sightseeing at sarnath covers the Buddhist temple, Dhamekha Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa and the archaelogical museum. Evening attend the Maha Aarti. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 05: Varanasi – Delhi Via Flight – Drive to Jaipur
Today Morning after breakfast we will drop you at Varanasi Airport for your flight to Delhi. On reaching Delhi by Noon time you will be picked up form Airport and we will drive to Jaipur.  

Jaipur -  The city owes its names, foundation and its careful planning to the great warrior (astronomer Maharaja Jai Singh II. In 1727) with Mughal power on the wane, Jai Singh decided to move down from his hillside fortress at nearby Amber to a new site on the plains. He laid out the city, with its surrounding walls and six rectangular blocks, according to the principles of town planning set down in Shilpa Shastra, an ancient Hindu treatise on architecture.

On Arrival at  Jaipur check in at hotel and relax. Rest of the day will be free for individual activities. And Night at Jaipur Hotel.

Day 06 : Jaipur Sightseeing
Today morning take breakfast in the hotel, excursion to Amber Fort: At a distance of 11 kms from Jaipur, Amber was the ancient capital of Jaipur state. Construction of the fort began in 1592 by Raja Man Singh, the Rajput commander of Akbar's army and is a superbJaipur Hawa Mahal

Visit the City Palace which has museum having an extensive collection of art, carpets, enamel ware and weapons; Jantar Mantar - the observatory built my Maharaja Jai Singh in 1728 and the façade of Hawa Mahal. Evening free for Shopping at Jaipur. Night at Jaipur Hotel. 

Day 07 : Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra
Today morning after relaxed breakfast in the hotel, you will leave for Agra, en-route visiting the abandoned Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri which was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569, was the old capital of the Mughals, which was abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. See the graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal & other Palaces which are still preserved in its original glory. After lunch drive to Agra. Arrive Agra in the late afternoon and check-in at hotel.

Day 08: Agra
Today Early morning at the time of Sun Rise we will visit the Taj Mahal which lights up the monument in different colours later take breakfast in the hotel, start the city tour of Agra. Visit Red fort, which was built by Emperor Akbar in 1565, and additions were made up until the time of his grandson, Shah Jahan. It contains the hall of public and private audiences amongst many other beautiful structues. Itmad-ud-daulah, which was constructed by Nur Jahan between 1622 and 1628 and is very similar to the tomb she constructed for her husband, Jahangir, near Lahore in Pakistan. Afternoon will be free for individual activities & overnight stay will be at hotel.

Day 09: Agra - Jhansi - Orchha - Khajuraho
Today morning take breakfast in the hotel, you will proceed your journey to khajuraho , en-route visiting Orchha which is a medieval city founded by Bundela rulers with palaces & temples of the 16th & 17th century – which have remarkably withstood the onslaught of time. The city is picturesquely flanked by the river Betwa. Visit of the surrounding fortress & local Ram Raja temple. After lunch, continue drive to Khajuraho, upon arrival, check in at hotel & overnight stay will be hotel.

Day 10: Khajuraho Sightseeing  
Today morning take breakfast in the hotel, you will visit Khajuraho, built by the warrior Chandela dynasty that rose to power in Central India between 10th & 11th centuries, the 25 odd surving temples display different facets of life, including the sensual. These erotic carvings on some panels have given rise to much speculation since Khajuraho’s re-discovery by a British officer in 1838. To preserve it for posterity, Khajuraho has been declared a World Heritage Site. Visit the eastern & western group of temples famous for their erotic scultpures. Evening at will be leisure and overnight stay will be hotel. 

Day 11 : Khajuraho Airport Drop – Delhi Via Flight and Back Home 
Today morning after breakfast we will check out form Khajuraho Hotel and we drop you off to Khajuraho Airport for your flight to Delhi / Mumbai , form there you can take your onward journey flight back Home. Tour Ends.
