As you walk along the narrow bylanes of this city of dreams, tread softly. Every crumbling wall has a story to tell. Every yesterday is replete with history. Rulers have come and gone. The city has lived through wars and resurrection, repeatedly rising from the ashes.
The first city of Delhi, Lal Kot was founded by the Tomar ruler Anangpal, in the 11th century. It was extended to Qila Rai Pithora by King Vigraharaja IV (Circa 1153-64). Qutbuddin Aibak became Delhi's first Sultan in 1206 and laid the foundations of the Qutb Minar, India's tallest stone tower at the site of the first city of Delhi subsequently the kings of the Sultanate dynasties, Khaljis, Tughluqs Sayyids and Lodis continued to build. New cities as Delhi grew. it was Shah Jehan (1628-58) who built the seventh city, Shahjahanabad which remained the Mughal capital until 1857. The British in 1911 shifted the capital of India to Delhi. The eighth city of New Delhi took shape in the imperial style of architecture. Jaipur: The Land of Raja & Maharajas "Pink City"

The picturesque capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur is colour washed pink-the colour associated with hospitality in Rajput culture. Built in 1727 A.D. by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, Jaipur displays a remarkable harmony and architectural splendour.
The ancient heart of the Pink City still beats in its fairy-tale palaces, rugged fortress perched on barren hills and broad avenues that dot the entire city. The only planned city of its time, Jaipur is encircled by its formidable wall. There is a timeless appeal to Jaipur's colourful bazaars where one can shop for Rajasthani handlooms and trinkets. Beautifully laid out gardens and parks, attractive monuments and marvellous heritage hotels, once the residence of Maharajas, are worth admiration. Not to mention the ambling camels and cheerful people in multi-hued costumes that make your trip to pinkcity a memorable one.

JAISALMER

Jaisalmer  The Indian Desert " The Golden City "

Golden splendor  amid the desert Jaisalmer –  the golden beauty, etched in yellow sandstone. Perched atop the Trikuta Hill, it stands  tall against miles of gleaming sand. Epitomising the desolate, awesome charm of the  desert. Jaisalmer, the  city of the golden fort is a fantasy in yellow sandstone in the heart of the Thar Desert.  The city was founded in 1156 by Rawal Jaisal, a Bhatti Rajput King. Legend has it,  that Lord Krishna – the head of Yadav Clan, foretold Arjuna that a remote descendent  of Yadav Clan would build his kingdom atop the Trikuta Hill. His prophecy was fulfilled,  when in 1156 AD Rawal Jaisal, a descendant of Yadav Clan and a Bhatti Rajput, founded the  city of Jaisalmer
This amber-hued  city, in the heart of the desert, dazzles gloriously in the early morning. The sunset has  a peculiar glow here. As the night descends, the sky goes up in flames, which fade leaving  a few embers, till it becomes black. A breathtaking sight indeed!  Jaisalmer is  famous for cobbled streets, strewn with palaces, forts, temples and havelis. Every house,  here, is exquisitely carved, having filigreed work all over. These houses date back to  12th – 15th century. And hence Jaisalmer is called 'the Museum city'.  Filled with  colour, festivity and smiles, Jaisalmer is truly a memorable experience across the  shimmering sands.

KULLU

KULLU

Kullu and Manali

Kullu was once known as Kulanthpitha, which means the end of the habitable world. Beyond rose the forbidding heights of the Greater Himalayas, and by the banks of the shining river Bees, lay the fabled 'Silver Valley'.
Here is the core of an intricate web of numerous valleys - each of which is a visual delight and seems more beautiful than the other. The mountain scapes remain spectacular whether in brilliant sunshine or in the haze of the mist. The 'Silver Valley' has nature's treasures that lie carelessly scattered as flowers on the high meadows.
The town of Kullu has long been a centre of faith. In the 17th century, Raja Jagat Singh installed here an idol of Lord Raghunathji, which he brought from Ayodhya. As a mark of his penance, he placed the idol on his throne and it became the presiding deity of the valley.
